All Souls Orchestra

Founded in 1972 by the then newly-appointed Director of Music at All Souls Langham Place, Noël Tredinnick, the All Souls Orchestra has gone on to develop an internationally-respected ministry. The Orchestra continues to delight thousands of concertgoers every year, including at flagship events such as Prom Praise and Prom Praise for Schools, which for some time have had their home at the Royal Albert Hall and at many of the nation’s favourite concert halls. At All Souls Langham Place, the Orchestra plays approximately one service per month alternating between morning and evening.

The Orchestra plays an eclectic selection of music, from substantial and challenging symphonic works to lively arrangements of contemporary worship songs as well as new commissions and debuts.

Over the 50 years of its existence, the membership of the Orchestra has extended widely and now includes both members and non-members of All Souls Langham Place as well as active student participation. All musicians are drawn by the desire to share their gifts and experience the joy of joining in this unique act of service.

Massed Choir

Alongside the All Souls Choir, there is a Massed Choir that is formed of singers from all over London and beyond. Coming from a variety of churches and denominations, the Massed Choir performs at the Royal Albert Hall with the All Souls Orchestra, at Prom Praise.

There is an opportunity to be part of the London Gathered Choir for anyone who is able to read music and attend rehearsals in W1. For those living further afield, there are regional groups who prepare together. Should there be no group near you, you might like to gather a choir in your area.

All Souls Choir

The All Souls Choir is an SATB group comprising amateur singers connected to All Souls Langham Place who are from many different backgrounds. Directed by Maria Marchant, the All Souls Choir meets weekly on Thursday evenings in the Church and are committed to singing most Sundays.

As well as Sundays, there is an opportunity to stretch yourself through occasional concerts. The annual All Souls Choir Carol Concert at Christmas is one of the highlights for everyone as well as combining with the All Souls Orchestra and the wider Gathered Choir to perform at the Royal Albert Hall for Prom Praise.

Bands

All Souls Langham Place has a large music team which encourages the church family to worship Christ every Sunday. Over a thousand people gather in central London - including many guests who are visiting the capital – to hear God’s word preached and to sing his praises.

All Souls Bands welcome drummers, guitarists, bassists, singers, bassoonists and timpanists, reflecting the diversity of God’s church in worship and praise. If you are a singer or instrumentalist and have a heart to serve Jesus and are looking for a Church to join in central London, please contact us to find out more about how you can get involved.
